With the engine turning over on the battery but nothing firing up it sounds like either there is no sparks being generated or the fuel is not where it should be.
It looks like in need to get a couple of panels off the bike.
The near-side/battery-side I have already removed, the off-side proved to be a problem, given that the screw has been rounded off and other is no grip for the screwdriver.
I was strongly recommended by a few guys who work on Japanese bike to get some JIS (Japanese Industy Standard) screw drivers. They say that they fit better and save the pain that I now need to go through to get this one off.
So out with the drill and a metal bit and a few minutes later I have gotten the drill bit a good way in and I am about to pull out and the bit snaps in the screw. I am not better off for getting the screw out and down a drill bit.
The bits I have I have had a while, half are missing either lost or broken so another visit to Amazon for drill bits.
I included a screw extractor kit would be a good idea for now and the future.
I also added a tin of CopaSlip grease for good measure, with the intention of coating the threads of any screw I screw into my bike in the future with the potentially futile idea that I would never need to go through the pains of broken screws and bolts.
